Peruvian television personality Hugo García posted a series of messages on Instagram and Threads on Saturday, September 12, 2026, the same day his former girlfriend, content creator Mafer Neyra, married Ernesto Cabieses, prompting speculation among followers on social media.
García's posts did not name Neyra or refer directly to her wedding. Even so, the timing of the messages quickly caught the attention of users who follow both public figures.

García first shared an Instagram story writing that the day had finally arrived, dated "12.09," alongside a heart emoji. Hours later, he posted again, this time on Threads, with a brief message telling whoever it was meant for to be happy. Instagram Stories are temporary posts that disappear after 24 hours, while Threads is a text-based app also owned by Meta, the company behind Instagram.
Hugo García and Mafer Neyra dated between 2015 and 2021. García became known to audiences in Peru as a contestant on reality television before building a career as a social media influencer, while Neyra established herself as a content creator.
Ric La Torre questions the timing
Content creator Ric La Torre shared screenshots of García's posts and publicly questioned why they had been published on the same day as Neyra's wedding. García's messages, however, did not indicate they were directed at his former partner, and he made no other public comment addressing the coincidence.

While García's posts were generating comments online, Neyra was celebrating her civil wedding to Cabieses. The ceremony took place on Saturday, September 12, and was followed by an intimate celebration with family members and close friends.
Neyra shared images from the moments before the ceremony. She wore a white lace dress with a sheer cape and carried a bouquet. She entered the ceremony venue on her father's arm to meet Cabieses, her partner of more than five years.
