Britney Spears' younger son, Jayden James Federline, turned 20, and the pop star marked the occasion with a birthday tribute on Instagram.
Spears, 44, shares Jayden James and his older brother, 20-year-old Sean Preston, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, 48. She met Federline in 2004 and the pair married later that year, before splitting and Spears filing for divorce two years later.
A birthday message on Instagram
Writing on Instagram on Saturday, Spears shared a warm message for her son, saying she hoped to be the best mom in the world for her two children. She included in the post a recent photo of Jayden James speaking on stage at an event, alongside a picture of him as a child.
In the caption, Spears began by wishing her beautiful boy a happy birthday. She went on to say that life was this wonderful thing waiting ahead of them, something both beautiful and fragile, and that she hoped to be the best mom in the world for him every day of his life.
A history of estrangement
The tribute reflected what Spears described as the hope she holds for her relationship with her sons, from whom she has been estranged in the past.
Spears rose to fame in the late 1990s with hits including "...Baby One More Time" and became one of pop music's best-known stars. For 13 years, her personal and financial affairs were controlled by a court-ordered conservatorship, run largely by her father, which ended in November 2021.
