Romeo Santos and Prince Royce launched their joint tour in Guatemala with a sold-out concert before more than 18,000 fans at Cementos Progreso Stadium.

The performance marked the official start of the Latin American leg of their tour, titled Mejor Tarde Que Nunca. The schedule brings the two American performers of Dominican descent across Central and South America through mid-November.
Thousands of spectators gathered at the Guatemalan venue for an evening centered on contemporary bachata, featuring major hits and joint performances from two of the genre's leading figures.
Bachata origins and artist backgrounds
Bachata is a genre of Latin music that originated in the Dominican Republic during the 20th century. It is defined by acoustic guitar instrumentation, romantic themes, and distinctive percussion driven by the bongo and guira.
Romeo Santos was born in New York to a Puerto Rican mother and a Dominican father. He initially gained international prominence as the lead singer of the group Aventura before establishing a successful solo career.
Prince Royce was also born in New York to Dominican parents. He launched his career in 2010 and quickly became one of modern Latin music's most recognizable performers. Both artists have made bachata the centerpiece of their international recordings and stadium shows.
Central American concert dates
The opening show in Guatemala inaugurates a busy Central American schedule throughout August. The tour moves next to San Salvador, El Salvador, for a concert at the Estadio Cuscatlan on August 15.
The duo then travels to San Jose, Costa Rica, to perform at the Estadio Nacional on August 18. Subsequent stops in the region include the Estadio Nacional Soberania in Managua, Nicaragua, on August 21, and the Estadio Olimpico in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on August 23.
The Central American portion of the tour concludes in Panama City, Panama, with a performance at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez on August 29.
South American and Mexican stops
In September, Santos and Royce will take the stage in four South American nations. The tour features back-to-back shows at the Estadio Nacional in Lima, Peru, on September 11 and 12, followed by a concert at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago, Chile, on September 20.
The artists then perform in Ecuador, playing at the Estadio Modelo Alberto Spencer in Guayaquil on September 24 and the Estadio Atahualpa in Quito on September 26.
Mexico hosts the largest concentration of performances on the tour, with ten scheduled shows throughout October and early November. The Mexican leg begins at the Estadio Kukulcan in Merida on October 15, followed by the Estadio Hermanos Serdan in Puebla on October 18, the Estadio Corregidora in Queretaro on October 20, and the Estadio Cordoba in Toluca on October 22.
The duo will perform two nights at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City on October 25 and 26, before moving to the Estadio Panamericano in Guadalajara on October 31. The Mexican dates conclude with shows at the Explanada Poliforum in Leon on November 1, Estadio Walmart Park in Monterrey on November 4, and the Foro CCT in Torreon on November 5.
Final dates and Dominican Republic absence
The final phase of the tour includes a single Caribbean stop at the Curacao Festival Center in Curacao on November 7. The tour then finishes in Argentina with shows at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in Cordoba on November 12 and the Estadio Velez in Buenos Aires on November 14.
The artists previously concluded a tour leg across the United States and have prepared for future European concert dates. However, the Dominican Republic is currently absent from the announced schedule for the Mejor Tarde Que Nunca tour.
Official representatives have not confirmed whether dates in the Dominican Republic will be added at a later time. The omission has drawn widespread notice given the Dominican heritage of both singers and the deep fanbase Santos maintains in the country.
