Ernesto Cabieses, the husband of Peruvian content creator Mafer Neyra, said he felt "a little sad" that their wedding weekend had already come to an end, speaking out days after a stir caused by cryptic social media posts from Neyra's former boyfriend, television personality Hugo García.
Neyra married Cabieses on Saturday, September 12, 2026. That same day, García published a series of messages on Instagram and Threads, including "Por fin llegó el día..." (Finally, the day has arrived...) and "Sé feliz" (Be happy). The timing led many social media users to speculate that the posts were directed at his former girlfriend, though García did not confirm that the messages had any connection to the wedding.
Hugo García's Cryptic Messages
García is a well-known figure in Peruvian entertainment and a former contestant on the reality competition show "Esto es guerra" (This Is War), which built his public profile. He and Neyra were previously a couple, and their relationship received wide media coverage in Peru at the time.

The posts appeared on García's Instagram and Threads accounts on the day of Neyra's ceremony, prompting an immediate reaction from followers who connected the timing to the wedding. García did not address the speculation or explain what prompted the messages.
Wedding Vows Draw Attention
Public interest in the story grew further after Neyra's wedding vows began circulating online. In them, she said she had known Cabieses since they were both 12 years old, and that he had remained present in her thoughts from that point on.
The remarks drew particular attention because Neyra had other relationships during the years she described, including her widely reported romance with García. That contrast, between the vows and the timing of García's posts, fuelled much of the online speculation surrounding the wedding.
Newlyweds Break Their Silence
On Monday, September 14, Neyra and Cabieses reappeared on social media to describe their first hours as a married couple. Neither addressed García's posts directly. Instead, both appeared emotional and nostalgic about the end of a celebration they said they had spent several weeks preparing.

Cabieses said he was still taking in how quickly the wedding had gone by. He said that after all the excitement of Saturday, he and Neyra had dedicated the following day, Sunday, September 13, exclusively to resting.
He said they were finally functioning like humans again after a well-deserved rest, adding that they had not left the bed all Sunday because they had given everything to Saturday's celebration. He called the experience a dream and described it as spectacular, saying he could not believe how fast it had all happened and that it now left him feeling a little sad.
More Wedding Content to Come
Neyra, for her part, recalled that many people had told the couple that a wedding ceremony tends to pass by extremely quickly and had urged them to make the most of every moment. She said that advice had proven true.
She asked her followers to be patient, explaining that she and Cabieses still had a large amount of photos and video from the wedding left to share and planned to post more content later that day. She said there was still a great deal to upload.
Neyra also thanked the vendors who worked on the wedding, saying she wanted to recommend them wholeheartedly and that they had come through for the couple during the preparations.
