An ammonia leak occurred in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, Ukraine, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
Klitschko said the leak happened in the Holosiivskyi district and that emergency services were being sent to the sites of the strikes.
Residents told to stay indoors
Times of Ukraine reported that Kyiv residents were already starting to feel a scratching sensation in their throats because of the ammonia leak. The outlet advised residents of the capital to close their windows and stay indoors where possible.
It was earlier reported that more than 30 missiles had struck the Ukrainian capital, with a series of explosions heard across the city. The likely target of the strikes by Russia's Armed Forces was believed to be the MLP-Chaika logistics center, where drones, components and foreign weapons are stored.
