Peruvian businessman Alonso Grimaldo revealed that an acquaintance filmed him kissing Carla Campos Salazar inside a nightclub VIP box during a night out in Lima.
Grimaldo shared the details during an appearance on Monday night, August 24, on the entertainment program Magaly TV, La Firme broadcast on network ATV.
The engineer and entrepreneur, affectionately known to friends as Grimmy, appeared on the show to respond to claims made by Campos Salazar, who had previously insinuated that Grimaldo is gay. During the interview, Grimaldo clarified his sexual orientation and stated that he is heterosexual.
Magaly TV, La Firme is a long-running television show hosted by veteran Peruvian journalist Magaly Medina on the ATV network. The program is widely known in Peru for broadcasting undercover footage of celebrities, a media practice locally referred to as an ampay.
During the broadcast, Medina addressed the viral footage showing Grimaldo and Campos Salazar together. Medina noted that public figures caught in hidden-camera segments frequently deny the footage, but stated that a kiss between the two is clearly visible in the recording, despite prior denials by Campos Salazar.
When asked by Medina to explain how the encounter occurred, Grimaldo was unable to provide a detailed explanation for the kiss. He stated that in general nothing had ever happened between him and Campos Salazar, but added that on that specific night they shared a high level of trust and closeness when they were recorded.
Filming inside the VIP box
Grimaldo disclosed that the individual who filmed the footage was not a stranger or a freelance photographer, but rather a personal acquaintance who was present in their private area at the venue. He explained that he and Campos Salazar were accompanied by a larger group of friends whom he regularly meets when visiting Lima.
According to Grimaldo, one of the people inside the private VIP box filmed the moment when he and Campos Salazar were dancing and interacting with evident familiarity. He added that after the gathering concluded inside the booth, the entire group left the venue together.
Campos Salazar recently gained widespread public attention in Peru following her engagement to the digital content creator and streamer known as Curwen. The pair later ended their relationship prior to the broadcast of the nightclub footage.
Addressing trip to Mancora
Grimaldo also addressed rumors surrounding a group getaway to Mancora, a popular beach resort town located along the northern coast of Peru. Media reports had raised questions about the nature of the trip and whether the two had stayed together alone.
Grimaldo clarified that while he and Campos Salazar shared a room during the coastal trip, they were not alone. He explained that other friends who traveled with them were also accommodated in the exact same room throughout their stay in Mancora.
Regarding the sudden media attention and public scrutiny following the footage, Grimaldo remarked on what he is gaining from the situation, expressing his desire to turn the exposure into an opportunity to contribute something positive to society.
