Alonso Grimaldo has denied having any connection to Curwen, the partner of Carla Campos-Salazar, after he was photographed alongside her in images that sparked speculation about infidelity.
Grimaldo made his first public comments on the matter in an interview with the digital channel Cardio Social, breaking a period of silence during which he had limited his social media posts to topics related to his work.
The photographs were originally broadcast on the television program Magaly TV: La Firme, hosted by Magaly Medina. After the images aired, Curwen told the program that he believed Grimaldo had some kind of connection to him.
Grimaldo offered a different account. He said he did not know Curwen, whose real name is Victor Caballero, adding that Campos-Salazar did know him. Asked whether he currently knew Curwen, Grimaldo said he still did not.
Grimaldo said his relationship was with Campos-Salazar herself, whom he described as a friend he has known for at least two years, well before the photographs that fueled speculation about the pair.
Grimaldo's message after the Magaly TV report
Grimaldo, an engineer specializing in artificial intelligence, was quickly identified by social media users after the television report aired. Details about his professional background further fueled public interest in the story.
Although he initially avoided commenting on the situation with Campos-Salazar, Grimaldo later posted a message on his account on X, taking an ironic tone about the sudden attention.
He wrote that he had imagined appearing in Forbes before appearing on Magaly Medina's program. The post went viral and was shared across multiple outlets because of the unexpected exposure it brought him in the entertainment world.
Clearing up his nickname
During the Cardio Social interview, Grimaldo also took the opportunity to correct the spelling of his nickname. He said that among his circle of friends he is known as Grimmy, and that although Magaly TV's spelling with a single m and the letter i was not wrong, the correct version uses a double m and a y.
