The National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting has requested that Russian musician Yuri Muzychenko be designated a national security threat. The agency submitted an official request to the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine to add the leader of the band The Hatters to the list of individuals creating a threat to national security.
In a statement published on its website, the broadcasting authority noted that the decision was made following an analysis of information from open sources. The agency stated that it decided to appeal to the Ministry of Culture to include Muzychenko, described as a Russian citizen, musician, theater and film actor, and video blogger, in the list of security threats.
Propaganda allegations
According to the statement, the musician is specifically accused of systematically participating in information and propaganda activities.
Earlier, Ukrainian authorities recognized actress Valentina Rubtsova, from the television series SashaTanya, as a threat to national security.
