The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has added Russian actress Valentina Rubtsova to its list of individuals who pose a threat to national security, Russian news agency TASS reported on August 5.
Rubtsova is known to viewers for her roles in the television series SashaTanya and Univer. The Ukrainian ministry also added singer and blogger Akim Apachev, whose real name is Akim Gasanov, to the list.
Both artists were previously listed in the database of the Ukrainian website Mirotvorets, which is recognized as an extremist organization in Russia. Ukrainian authorities made the decision because of their public positions and creative work, which officials deemed incompatible with state security interests.
In an earlier move, the United States Department of War placed 32 domestic universities and research institutes on a blacklist, designating them as institutions that undermine national security.
