The musician, whose real name is Denis Ustimenko-Vainshtein, reportedly wounded a security guard in the arm and leg during the early July 2026 incident after suspecting him of pedophilia. Videos surfaced on social media showing the performer's children hiding in fear inside a closet, with his eldest daughter Ariela making a desperate audio recording pleading with her mother Oxana Samoylova to send help because her father was coming to shoot them.
Former special forces personnel were specially called to the gated community to execute a hostage rescue protocol, successfully restraining the musician and liberating the children and domestic staff. Dzhigan was subsequently transported to a VIP rehabilitation center in Israel where he remains, while Samoylova returned urgently from Milan to collect their children, who have since received psychological therapy designed for terror attack victims.

In 2019, Ustimenko-Vainshtein reportedly bit off a piece of his manager's ear during an outburst at a concert in Odesa after his drummer performed alongside a rival disc jockey, driven by the musician's belief that his backing band must work exclusively with him. The manager indirectly confirmed the physical altercation to reporters while declining to provide further details.
