Consumer electronics brand CMF by Nothing has teased the upcoming release of a new pair of next-generation wireless earbuds. The company published a teaser image on social media on August 17, 2026, giving tech enthusiasts a first look at the upcoming audio device.
The published promotional image reveals an earphone featuring a stem structure finished in a white and silver colour scheme, accented by a bright orange tip. In its social media post, CMF stated that the image provided a hint of what would come next for the brand.
CMF operates as a budget-conscious sub-brand of Nothing, the London-based technology company founded by Carl Pei. While Nothing focuses on premium smartphones and audio gear featuring transparent design elements, CMF delivers affordable consumer tech items, often using bold accent colours such as bright orange across its line of chargers, smartwatches, and audio accessories.
Product lineage and upcoming details
The newly previewed earbuds are expected to succeed previous generations in the brand's true wireless stereo audio catalog. CMF originally released the CMF Buds Pro 2 in 2024, followed by the release of both the CMF Buds 2 and the CMF Buds 2 Plus last year in 2025.
The upcoming product could potentially serve as the next generation of any of those lines, with potential naming options including the CMF Buds 3, CMF Buds 3 Pro, or CMF Buds 3 Plus. However, CMF has not yet disclosed an official model name, technical specifications, pricing, or a scheduled presentation date.
Reporting on the announcement for Ukrainian news website LIGA.net, news editor Anastasiia Bobkova noted that the hardware manufacturer is likely to reveal further details and specifications through additional teasers in the coming weeks.
Smartphone launches and corporate restructuring
The teaser arrives during a busy period of product announcements and corporate shifts for parent brand Nothing. The company recently released the Nothing Phone (4b), a mid-range smartphone priced at 300 euros that houses the largest battery capacity of any smartphone released by the manufacturer to date.
Despite recent hardware releases, Nothing is also navigating potential structural adjustments across its global business operations. The London-headquartered firm may exit as many as 12 international markets and could reduce its overall staff headcount by nearly half as it reorganises its corporate operations.
