Russian blogger and translator Dmitry Puchkov, known as Goblin, said he was greatly surprised to learn that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reads writer Alexander Tsypkin.

Speaking on Radio Sputnik, Puchkov explained that he nearly fell off his chair when he heard Lavrov name Tsypkin during an interview with actress and television presenter Yulia Menshova. The audio recording of the radio broadcast was published online and made available on the Russian social media platform VKontakte.



Puchkov praised the writer during the radio program, calling Tsypkin a good chap. He also expressed agreement with his co-host Tatyana Ladyaeva, who stated that Tsypkin had achieved recognition at the highest level.

Lavrov Interview and Literary Context

The interview with the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry was released on Tuesday, September 8. During the broadcast, Lavrov commented on ongoing negotiations regarding the situation in Ukraine and evaluated Europe's readiness for military confrontation with Russia.

Puchkov, who gained widespread public recognition under the creative pseudonym Goblin, is a prominent Russian internet personality, commentator, and translator. He initially established his reputation by producing humorous and informal Russian dubs of major foreign feature films, before expanding into digital media and political talk shows.

Lavrov has led the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia as foreign minister since March 2004, ranking among the longest-tenured senior diplomats in contemporary international relations. The ministry manages Russia's official foreign policy and oversees its extensive diplomatic mission network from its headquarters in Moscow.

Broadcasting and Ukraine Remarks

Tsypkin is a contemporary Russian writer, playwright, and public relations strategist best known for his satirical short prose and popular literary projects. Menshova is an established Russian television host, film actress, and theater director. Radio Sputnik operates as the radio broadcasting division of state media agency Rossiya Segodnya, distributing news and political commentary globally.

Puchkov has previously commented on geopolitical topics concerning Ukraine. In an earlier statement, the online commentator questioned who is currently in effective control of the government in Ukraine.
