Naldy Saldaña Denounces La Bella Luz Bandmates on Live TV

Peruvian cumbia singer Naldy Saldaña broke down in tears during an appearance on the television show El Reventonazo de la Chola while addressing her harassment complaint against former La Bella Luz musical director César Sánchez Chavesta.

Saldaña accused her former bandmates of turning their backs on her, revealing that several colleagues initially sent her messages of support after she reported Sánchez for improper touching, only to later publicly claim they knew nothing about her ordeal.

During her interview with program host Chola Chabuca, the singer of Amor ilegal explained that she felt deeply hurt by her ex-colleagues' public statements. She stated that after news of the complaint broke, several group members reached out privately to express their backing, leaving her shocked when they later told the public that no one in the ensemble had been aware of any misconduct.

Saldaña rejected the notion that her situation was hidden from those around her. She stated that everyone who worked in La Bella Luz was fully aware of what was taking place because they shared the same working space every single day, adding that everyone present was a witness to her ordeal and that she felt very bad during that period.

Public Backlash and Family Impact

The allegations against Sánchez Chavesta have sparked strong public reactions across Peru. The former musical director was recently spotted at a shopping centre where onlookers recognized him, booed him, and called him disgusting as he walked through the complex. Meanwhile, Saldaña's father previously detailed the harsh financial and emotional difficulties their family had to face following his daughter's public reporting of the incident.

La Bella Luz is a well-known Peruvian cumbia group, a popular tropical music style widely performed across Latin America. El Reventonazo de la Chola, broadcast on Peruvian network television, is a long-running weekend variety show hosted by entertainer Ernesto Pimentel in character as Chola Chabuca, frequently featuring prominent figures from Peru's music and entertainment industry.

Decision on Returning to La Bella Luz

Despite previous statements from group representative Óscar Junior, known as Senderito, who indicated that the doors of La Bella Luz remained open for Saldaña and discussed his uncle César Sánchez Chavesta's position in the group, the vocalist firmly ruled out any possibility of returning to the ensemble. Saldaña emphasized that her decision was final, pointing to the treatment she received after bringing her complaint forward as the main reason she cannot go back.

Reflecting on her time with the cumbia group, Saldaña acknowledged that her experience with La Bella Luz was nevertheless a significant milestone in her musical career. She explained that her period as a lead vocalist allowed her to learn, grow, and gain valuable artistic experience that helped shape her as a professional performer.
