Peruvian influencer Melissa Lobatón has rejected accusations from barber Youna that she never cared for her sister Samahara Lobatón's children.
Youna made the allegations during a heated clash with his former partner Samahara on the reality television show La Prisión de Destino 2, claiming people close to him disclosed that Melissa failed to look after the infants.
According to Youna, those statements contradicted public posts made by his ex-sister-in-law on social media while Samahara was participating in the reality program La Granja VIP Perú, where Melissa claimed to be looking after the children. Youna also criticized Samahara during the argument for starring in what he described as a shameful incident.
Instagram video evidence
In response to the claims, Melissa Lobatón posted a self-recorded video on her Instagram stories showing her sister's three children playing together in a toy-filled living room under adult supervision.
She accompanied the video clip with an ironic caption referring to them as the babies who are always alone, adding a laughing emoji to reinforce her sarcastic tone.
Livestream explanations and nanny supervision
Hours prior to publishing the video, Melissa Lobatón hosted a live social media broadcast alongside her mother, media personality Melissa Klug, to address the dispute originating from the broadcast of La Prisión de Destino 2.
During the stream, Melissa Lobatón explained that looking after the infants was not her responsibility because Samahara had hired two professional nannies to perform that work. She stated that supervising hired nannies was distinct from direct childcare, adding that she never received any financial compensation and helped solely out of personal affection.
In the same broadcast, Melissa Klug, known publicly in Peru as La Blanca de Chucuito, stated that her daughter Melissa had also paid for several expenses for Xianna, Samahara's eldest child with Youna. Klug noted that family members had repeatedly contacted Youna to resolve those costs, which included purchasing school uniforms and other basic daily necessities for the young girl.
Reality show controversies and ongoing friction
The confrontation on La Prisión de Destino 2 follows previous public disputes involving the family members across multiple Peruvian reality programs. Youna is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia, a condition that previously sparked controversy when Samahara was reported to have expressed a wish that he lose his life to the illness.
Samahara also generated news during her appearance on La Prisión de Destino after being involved in a physical altercation where she demanded a fellow contestant release her. Additionally, she publicly alleged that fellow participant Shirley Arica failed to share prize money from La Granja VIP Perú despite a prior agreement, claiming she received no funds from the reward.
