Former La Bella Luz vocalists Héctor Boza and Eduardo Ortúzar have accused Óscar Junior 'Senderito', son of owner Óscar Custodio, of mistreating musicians in the Monsefú orchestra.
The allegations against Óscar Junior emerged after Naldy Saldaña filed a complaint against musical director César Sánchez Chavesta, the owner's cousin, for alleged improper touching. Óscar Junior has faced public criticism for remaining silent about Saldaña's case while maintaining a contrasting image on social media.
Allegations by Héctor Boza
Héctor Boza, who performed with La Bella Luz for three months before voluntarily leaving in June 2025 to join Los Caribeños de Guadalupe, shared his experience during a live broadcast on the Show.pe podcast. Boza said Óscar Junior presents a false persona on social media alongside his mother, Pilar Torres, who is the wife of Óscar Custodio.
Boza stated that Óscar Junior regularly mistreats and humiliates fellow musicians because he feels superior to others. He added that Pilar Torres has also verbally abused orchestra members by shouting at them on multiple occasions.
Although Boza experienced mistreatment himself, he stated that his personal experience represents only five percent of what Saldaña endured. He called for justice for Saldaña, describing her complaint against Sánchez Chavesta as the central issue that requires attention.
Testimony from Eduardo Ortúzar
Former member Eduardo Ortúzar also spoke to Show.pe, stating that the public image of humility presented by La Bella Luz does not reflect reality behind the scenes. Ortúzar said Óscar Junior frequently yelled at musicians and attempted to yell at him as well.
Ortúzar explained that he left the cumbia group in February 2025 to protect his emotional well-being due to the working conditions. He added that band management labeled him as ill-mannered simply because he stood up for himself and stopped the owner's son from shouting at him.
