Expomina Peru 2026 projects over $300 million investment

President of the Republic Keiko Fujimori announced that Expomina Peru 2026 is projecting investments of more than $300 million during the official opening of the mining fair in Lima.

The trade exhibition is celebrating its tenth edition at the Jockey Exhibition Center in the Peruvian capital. Event organisers have gathered more than 1,000 exhibition stands for the major industry gathering, which runs through September 11.

Expomina Peru is recognized as one of South America's premier international mining trade exhibitions, bringing together equipment suppliers, technology providers, and global investors. Mining represents a central pillar of Peru's national economy, as the South American country is one of the world's top producers of copper, gold, and silver.

Public investment review and fiscal budget targets

Alongside the opening of the mining summit, Peru's Ministry of Economy and Finance is currently conducting a systematic review of thousands of public investment projects nationwide. The ministry stated that government resources will prioritize public works that are nearing completion.

Providing further details on government expenditure, Minister Elmer Cuba outlined planned public allocations for state payroll and social obligations. Cuba reported that personnel payments and pensions scheduled in the 2027 public budget will total 112,886 million soles.

Global trade relations and agricultural policy

Turning to international commercial conditions, the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation commented on trade friction between the United States and China. The ministry stated that as long as both major global powers maintain active economic interest in Peru, the commercial climate remains beneficial for domestic producers.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance oversees fiscal policy and public expenditure across Peru, while the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation manages farming trade and rural policy. Both institutions monitor economic activity as Expomina Peru continues its tenth edition at the Jockey Exhibition Center in Lima through September 11.
