Former members of 1990s salsa groups Salserín, Adolescentes and Salsa Kids will return to Lima on December 19 for a second show at Costa 21.
Organisers scheduled the new performance following high ticket demand and the success of the project's initial concert on August 14, which played to a sold-out crowd. The event, titled La Trilogía Salsa 90s, brings together former lead vocalists from three of the most influential youth salsa acts of the 1990s for a joint nostalgic concert series.
Costa 21, located along the Costa Verde coastal avenue in Lima's San Miguel district, is a major open-air venue that regularly hosts high-profile international music acts in the Peruvian capital.
Lineup and Featured Vocalists
The concert lineup features singers who led three major groups during the peak era of Latin youth salsa, a subgenre that combined traditional salsa rhythms with teen pop appeal and romantic ballads during the 1990s.
René Velasco, Leonardo Patiño and José Félix will perform as part of Ex Salserín: El Reencuentro. Salserín was established in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1993 as a youth salsa orchestra featuring child and teenage musicians. The group gained massive popularity across South America and the Caribbean, releasing multiple hit records and starring in youth television series while pioneering the teen salsa movement.
Representing Ex Adolescentes are vocalists Néstor Rivero, Wilmer Lozano and Armando Davadillo. Adolescentes Orquesta, founded in Venezuela during the mid-1990s, earned international acclaim with romantic salsa hits that topped radio charts throughout the region. The group's sound relied on melodic brass arrangements and lyrics focused on youth romance and social themes.
Salsa Kids will feature Omar Rodríguez, Jomy Colón and Louis Quintero. Formed in Puerto Rico in 1993, Salsa Kids broke ground by blending traditional Caribbean salsa rhythms with modern pop choreography and boyband stage presentations. The trio continues to mark 35 years of artistic trajectory with performances in Peru.
Ticket Sales and Presale Promotion
Ticket presales for the December show in Lima launched with a two-for-one promotional discount distributed through Teleticket, the primary ticketing agency operating in Peru.
According to information released by organisers, the promotional presale experienced heavy consumer demand and surpassed 10,000 tickets sold in record time. The two-for-one promotional offer will remain available until Monday, September 14, or until the designated presale ticket stock is exhausted.
Peruvian Tour Dates and Repertoire
In addition to the return date in the capital, organisers confirmed that La Trilogía Salsa 90s will perform for the first time in Arequipa and Trujillo, expanding the project to three special concert nights in Peru.
Arequipa, located in the southern Andes, and Trujillo, situated on the northern Pacific coast, are Peru's second and third most populous cities and serve as primary cultural centers outside the capital. Promoters indicated that ticket release dates for the Arequipa and Trujillo concerts will be announced in the near future.
The December 19 concert at Costa 21 is planned as a celebration of 1990s salsa classics. The setlist will feature prominent hits from all three groups, including De sol a sol, Yo sin ti, Virgen, Clase social, and La magia de tus 15 años.
