U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters on Thursday that he expects the war with Iran to end soon. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump stated he does not think Iranian forces can hold out much longer.
When asked about ammunition stockpiles, Trump said the United States has an unlimited or almost unlimited supply of some very powerful weapons. However, he admitted that inventory levels for other types of munitions are somewhat more limited.
Weapon stockpiles and missile production
On Tuesday, Reuters reported that the U.S. military depleted a large portion of its global stockpiles of long-range and high-precision missiles during five months of war with Iran.
Trump said American defense industries are building additional production facilities to increase output, including plants for Patriot and Tomahawk missiles.
