US President Donald Trump said the United States military operation against Iran will end fairly soon, speaking during a broadcast on the White House YouTube channel while answering questions from journalists.
Trump said he expects oil prices to drop when the war in Iran finishes, adding that he believes the conflict will end quite soon. He also expressed doubt that representatives from Tehran will be able to hold out much longer.
Talks and Strait of Hormuz Agreement
The White House leader emphasized that he is participating in negotiations and said everything is going well toward reaching a deal between the United States and Iran soon.
Indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran through intermediaries have entered their final stage. Following the approval of an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz, Washington and Tehran intend to return to a memorandum of understanding signed in June.
