Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed four generals who served in Ukraine to new defense positions, military analyst Alexei Leonkov told news agency RIA Novosti.
Leonkov said the appointees distinguished themselves in major battles during the special military operation. He described the commanders as attacking generals who stood out during offensive operations and said their offensive approach would benefit them in their new assignments.
Unmanned Systems Command
The appointments followed a meeting between Putin and leadership from the Ministry of Defense. During the event, Denis Lyamin was appointed as commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
Lyamin previously served as chief of staff for the Center military grouping in the combat zone.
