The feature film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel Verity will open in cinemas across the Dominican Republic on October 1.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and directed by Michael Showalter, the movie stars Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett in the leading roles. Local theatrical distribution across the Caribbean nation is being handled by Cinematográfica Blancica, the long-standing company serving as the official representative for Sony Pictures in the Dominican Republic.
The narrative follows Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer hired to complete the remaining books of a highly successful literary saga after its author, Verity Crawford, suffers a severe accident. Upon moving into the Crawford family residence in order to review working notes and research material, Ashleigh discovers an unpublished manuscript containing disturbing revelations about the family and events that were previously unknown to her.

The new film marks a second creative collaboration between Showalter and Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway, following their work on the 2024 romantic comedy feature The Idea of You.
