Vasily Generalov, the head of the Planeta Med clinic in Russia where children with autism were treated with enemas, has disappeared following the launch of a criminal investigation into the facility.
Law enforcement authorities opened the criminal case under legal articles covering fraud and the infliction of severe harm to health, according to a report published by the Russian news outlet Mash on its Telegram channel.
Generalov had recently returned to Russia from Singapore and subsequently traveled to the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk. However, he vanished shortly after investigators officially opened the criminal case against him.
Claims of paid media and Western influence
Prior to his disappearance, Generalov had publicly rejected criticism regarding the methods used at his clinic. He told patients that media reports about the facility were paid for and claimed that parents who complained about the treatments were acting according to Western instructions.

Planeta Med operated as a private medical center providing treatment for neurological conditions. Autism spectrum disorder is a developmental condition that affects how individuals communicate, process information, and interact socially. Medical standards established by international health organizations do not recognize enema therapies as valid or effective treatments for autism.
Vision loss at private Ufa clinic
The case comes amid previous reports of severe medical complications occurring at private healthcare facilities in Russia. In Ufa, the regional capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan in western Russia, a local female resident lost her sight following an injection procedure at a private medical clinic.
The patient stated that she initially sought medical care from a neurologist in 2023 after experiencing severe neck pain. Suspecting that the woman had osteochondrosis, a medical condition affecting joint cartilage and spinal bones, the doctor treated her by administering injections derived from her own blood plasma.
The woman reported that her body temperature rose sharply the next day and her vision rapidly deteriorated, ultimately resulting in complete blindness.
