Non-working women in Ukraine aged 65 and older who have accumulated at least 30 years of work service will see their minimum monthly pension payments increased to 4,213 hryvnias in October 2026 if their previous benefits fell below that threshold.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine reported that average pension payments in the country stand at around 7,236 hryvnias in 2026, while the statutory minimum pension remains set at 2,595 hryvnias. The new threshold provides a targeted boost above the standard minimum for eligible senior women.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine is the central state body responsible for administering compulsory state pension insurance and distributing social payments nationwide. Pension amounts in the country are issued in the national currency, the hryvnia.
Age-based pension supplements
In addition to the baseline increase for women over 65, Ukrainian women reaching specific age milestones during October will receive automatic monthly age top-ups. Pensioners turning 70 years old will receive an additional 300 hryvnias per month.
Women reaching 75 years of age will receive a monthly supplement of 456 hryvnias, while those turning 80 will see their payments increased by 570 hryvnias. Each higher age tier incorporates and replaces the previous supplement level.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine stated that recipients do not need to submit a separate application to obtain the age-related increases. The agency automatically calculates and assigns the supplement when a pensioner reaches the qualifying age.
Special allowances for care and large families
A separate monthly allowance of 1,038 hryvnias is available for pensioners over the age of 80 who live alone without able-bodied relatives and require constant outside care. Eligibility must be certified by an official medical commission.
Unlike the standard age top-ups, this care allowance is not granted automatically. Senior citizens seeking the payment must personally file an application with the Pension Fund of Ukraine along with the required medical documentation.
Mothers of large families who raised five or more children up to at least six years of age are also eligible for an additional pension benefit. This allowance also requires an explicit application to the state fund, with payments set at 908 hryvnias for raising five children and rising to 1,038 hryvnias for mothers who raised ten or more children.
Bonuses for extra service years
Women who have worked for more than 30 years qualify for an automatic pension increment based on their overtime service history. For each year worked beyond the 30-year requirement, pensioners receive an additional supplement of up to one percent of the subsistence minimum for incapacitated persons.
With the current maximum rate capped at 25.95 hryvnias for each additional year of service, a woman with 40 years of employment history would gain 10 extra years of service, adding 259.50 hryvnias to her monthly pension payout.
The subsistence minimum is Ukraine's statutory benchmark used by state legislators and government agencies to calculate social welfare rates, public benefits, and minimum living allowances across the country.
