Greek actor Thanasis Tsaltabasis paid an emotional tribute to his late father on Instagram, three months after his death, marking what would have been his father's birthday.
On Sunday, August 23, Tsaltabasis posted a photo of his father to his Instagram story, noting that it was the first time they were not celebrating the day together.
In the post, the actor wrote: "Dad... First time you're not here for your birthday... Sunday again... Like three months ago... Even though there are no clouds, for me it's cloudy." He paired the message with the well known Greek song "Cloudy Sunday."
Father's death announced in May
Tsaltabasis announced his father's death in May, sharing what he said was the last photograph he had taken of him, showing his father together with his granddaughter.
At the time, he wrote a tribute describing his father as unpredictable in everything and saying he had waited for Mother's Day to pass before he died. He said he still felt as though it was some kind of joke and that his father would return. He said his father had spent a lifetime handing out smiles, and that the family was now filled with tears instead. He said he would always love him, adding a postscript that he had not known, when he took the photograph, that it would be the last one, and that his father had been captured in a moment of happiness, which was how he said he would remember him.

Tsaltabasis is a Greek actor known for his stage and television work in Greece. Following his father's death, he had said in a separate interview that he had not felt like inviting people to his premiere, as those closest to him were in mourning.
The new Instagram story, shared on the day that would have marked his father's birthday, is the latest sign that the actor continues to grieve the loss publicly, three months after first announcing it to his followers.
