French singer Styleto joined 13-year-old contestant Fleur for an impromptu duet on TF1 music contest The Voice Kids after judges failed to turn their chairs.
The teenager had chosen to perform Styleto's hit song during her blind audition for season 12 of the show, unaware that the pop artist was serving as the godmother for this year's young talents.
Participating in the competition was the ultimate dream for Fleur, a middle school student from Remoulins in the Gard department of southern France. Her mother had registered her for the show without telling her in advance.
Before Fleur stepped onto the stage, Styleto encouraged her backstage and wished her good luck with the performance. Fleur explained that she hoped her rendition of the track would convince the panel of coaches to fall in love with her singing and rotate their red chairs.
Blind audition outcome
However, none of the four celebrity coaches on the panel, comprising Santa, Matt Pokora, Soprano, and Patrick Fiori, turned their seats around during the audition. On stage, the panel acknowledged that the teenager delivered wonderful notes, although Fiori noted that some pitches were slightly off key.
Fiori, a Corsican singer, told Fleur that he felt she still possessed significant untapped vocal potential and advised her to work on strengthening her vocal cords.
Watching from backstage, Styleto broke into tears as the audition concluded. She admitted to crew members that she felt as though the failure was her own fault and asked how she was supposed to cope with the situation.
While Fiori debriefed with Fleur on stage, Soprano ran backstage to locate Styleto. The Marseilles-born rapper asked her if she believed they would leave her in such a state.
Stage duet and future promise
Styleto confronted the coaches, calling them useless and expressing her disgust over the decision. She explained that she felt heartbroken for the young singer, whom she described as exceptionally courageous.
Styleto then walked onto the stage to embrace Fleur, admitting that she would have been incapable of performing under such pressure herself. To comfort the young contestant, Styleto performed an emotional duet alongside her in a sequence later highlighted on streaming platform TF1+.
Deeply moved by the moment, Soprano told Fleur that her voice was ready for prime time and asked her to promise that she would return in three years to compete on the adult version of the show. The teenager agreed, promising the coaches that she would return.
In other news from the show's history, previous winner Charlotte, who won the 2025 edition of The Voice Kids, recently shared the first images of her facial reconstruction following her time on the series.
