Spanish singer Rosalía opened her LUX Tour in Buenos Aires on Saturday with an apology over a social media post about the World Cup. Speaking to roughly 15,000 fans at Movistar Arena, she affirmed that her love for Argentina remained intact following recent online controversy.
The controversy started after she shared a social media post about the defeat of the Argentine national team against Spain in the 2026 World Cup final. Visibly emotional, she explained to the crowd that she had simply felt curious without looking deeper into the post before reposting it. She called the action a huge mistake and a terrible mess that was never her intention, prompting a prolonged ovation from the stadium.

Dressed as a classical ballerina in a yellow tutu and pointe shoes, Rosalía delivered her performance for thousands of attendees who had waited for her return to the country. Shortly after taking the stage, she performed her song Reliquia and sang a celebrated line declaring that heaven was born in Buenos Aires.
Ties to Argentina
Rosalía recalled that Argentina was where she experienced one of the first major milestones outside her home country during her 2019 appearance at Lollapalooza. She remembered hearing the audience sing her lyrics and realizing she had succeeded. She noted that the location helped shape who she is today and expressed deep gratitude for the country and its fans.
She added that nothing would hurt her more than supporters thinking they did not matter to her, reiterating her love for the country and describing the crowd as the best audience on earth. At the conclusion of her remarks, Movistar Arena erupted in applause as thousands chanted her name for several minutes.
Concert highlights and tour schedule
The concert featured a visually impactful stage setup and included Argentine singer Ángela Torres as a guest during the segment called El Confesionario, one of the most anticipated parts of the tour. Another key moment came when the entire crowd sang along to her song La Perla.
Rosalía also surprised the audience by singing Frankie Valli's popular classic Can't Take My Eyes Off You in English. Later in the show, she sat at the piano to perform Alfonsina y el mar, a song popularized by Argentine singer Mercedes Sosa.
Saturday's concert was the first of four scheduled performances in Buenos Aires, with additional shows planned for August 3, 5, and 6. After wrapping up her dates in Argentina, Rosalía will travel to Brazil for two concerts in Rio de Janeiro on August 10 and 11.
