A plane carrying released American Robert Gilman has landed in Ireland on its way to the United States after departing Russia, state news agency TASS reported, citing a source in European Union air traffic control services.
The US-registered aircraft made an intermediate landing at Shannon Airport, where it spent a little over two and a half hours. The airport is used for refueling by aircraft crossing the Atlantic Ocean, and the plane is currently continuing its flight toward the United States.

Release and Conviction Details
US President Donald Trump previously stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to release Gilman from custody on humanitarian grounds, without an exchange for a Russian prisoner.
Gilman was removed from a Sokhumi-Moscow train while intoxicated on January 17, 2022, for violating public order and was taken to a police department in Voronezh. He attacked a Ministry of Internal Affairs officer at the station and was sentenced in October 2022 to 4.5 years in prison.
