Peru state financial institution Banco de la Nacion has released its official August 2026 payment schedule for public sector employees and state pensioners across the country.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance established the calendar alongside the bank to distribute funds according to each beneficiary's institution and payment modality. Bank officials said the measure aims to organize disbursements, prevent delays, and allow public servants to plan their monthly expenses in advance.
The disbursement plan covers workers across government ministries, regional administrations, public universities, and autonomous state bodies. Each designated group receives access to salary funds on specific dates through the state banking network.
Public sector salary payment schedule
Public sector salary distributions will begin on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Workers scheduled for payment on this date include staff at the Ministry of Education, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
Employees at the Ministry of Defense, the Judiciary, the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and the Ministry of Justice will also receive their salaries on August 20. The first payment date further includes executive units of regional governments, the Comptroller General's Office, Congress, the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, and the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
The schedule continues on Friday, August 21, for employees of the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion, and the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation. Workers at the Ombudsman's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are also scheduled to receive their pay on August 21.
On Monday, August 24, payments will be deposited for personnel at the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of the Environment, and the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion, alongside staff at the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status.
The public sector payroll schedule concludes on Tuesday, August 25. This final group covers the Ministry of Production, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, the National Office of Electoral Processes, the Military Police Court, the National Board of Justice, the National Jury of Elections, the Constitutional Court, and other public entities.
Banco de la Nacion operates as Peru's state bank, handling government financial operations, tax collection, and public sector payroll payments. The Ministry of Economy and Finance oversees national fiscal policy and public spending budgets from its headquarters in Lima.
ONP pensioner payment calendar
The calendar also includes specific payment dates for pensioners under the Office of Normalization Standardization pension system who receive funds through Banco de la Nacion. Disbursements at bank branches were organized by surname to avoid crowding and shorten wait times.
Branch payments began on Monday, August 10, for pensioners with surnames starting with letters A through C. Pensioners with surnames from D through L collected their payments on Tuesday, August 11, followed by surnames starting with M through Q on Wednesday, August 12, and surnames from R through Z on Thursday, August 13.
For pensioners registered under the home delivery service, the payout period spans a wider timeframe. Home deliveries began on Monday, August 17, and will continue through Wednesday, August 26, allowing beneficiaries to receive their pensions without traveling to a branch.
Bank operating hours and digital channels
Banco de la Nacion branches operate from 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Select branch offices also open on Saturdays from 9:15 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. to serve the public.
Bank users can also perform transactions digitally using the App Banco de la Nacion mobile application or the Multired Virtual online platform. Automated teller machines and authorized agent locations provide additional transaction points across Peru.
The bank stated that recent updates to its fee structure do not apply to accounts held by pensioners or recipients of social assistance programs. Financial officials advised customers to confirm branch operating hours and available service channels before traveling to complete banking transactions.
