Peruvian television personality Nicola Porcella mocked presenter Magaly Medina during a YouTube appearance with former professional footballer Jefferson Farfan.
Speaking on Farfan's digital channel, Porcella thanked Medina for paying a court-ordered compensation package exceeding 300,000 Peruvian soles, an amount reportedly drawn from the funds of television network ATV.
Porcella raised a glass to Medina during the interview, remarking with a laugh that her legal payout was effectively covering their meal and sending her a kiss. Farfan joined in the laughter, adding his own kiss and wishing the host well in life.
The financial compensation follows a legal battle in which Farfan won a lawsuit against Medina. Farfan, a former Peruvian national team forward who played for European clubs such as PSV Eindhoven and Schalke 04, recently made news for gifting an apartment to a promising young football player.
Media disputes and public image
During the conversation, Porcella reflected on his past in Peru and acknowledged making mistakes due to immaturity and anger. However, he strongly rejected allegations of unlawful conduct, emphasizing that he has never faced a formal legal complaint or charge.
Porcella accused several Peruvian television programs, specifically Medina's entertainment show on ATV, of working to build a negative public reputation around him. Medina hosts a long-running celebrity gossip program on ATV, one of the major free-to-air broadcasting networks in Peru.
He noted that when audiences in Mexico learned about his history while he was participating in a reality show, they realized his character did not match the narrative portrayed by the Peruvian press. Porcella previously rose to fame as a contestant on the Peruvian reality program Esto es guerra before expanding his television career abroad.
Life in Mexico and television work
Discussing his relocation, Porcella stated that he is happy, peaceful, and fully occupied with his job and personal projects in Mexico. He described the Peruvian television environment as small compared to Mexico's larger media industry, where he has worked alongside prominent Mexican television stars including Andrea Legarreta, Galilea Montijo, Raul Arayza, Andrea Escalona, and Paul Stanley.
Despite his satisfaction with his career abroad, Porcella admitted that missing his family and Peruvian food remains the hardest part of living in Mexico. Porcella, who lost a relative a few weeks ago, added that once a person adapts to living abroad, life becomes easier.
