Reigning titleholder Luren Márquez presented the 63 official candidates for Miss Peru 2027 during a press conference held at the Municipal Theater of Callao on August 18, officially opening the race for the national beauty crown.
The slate features 31 contestants selected through a national casting process alongside 32 delegates representing regions and communities across Peru, with the winner scheduled to be announced in December.
Márquez expressed emotion during the presentation after receiving a renewed opportunity to represent the nation at Miss Universe 2026. The appearance came after Márquez was briefly dethroned from her Miss Peru title before having the crown restored to her hours later.
Addressing the aspiring titleholders, Márquez urged the contestants to leave a positive impact during their pageant journey. She said that women who join the platform emerge evolved with a stronger version of themselves, connecting with a personal purpose to leave a symbolic mark on their community and country.
Miss Peru is the nation's premier beauty pageant, responsible for selecting the representative for Miss Universe, the global contest founded in 1952. The host venue, the Municipal Theater of Callao, stands as a central cultural landmark in Callao, a historic port city located directly west of the capital city of Lima.

Among the 31 candidates selected through the national open casting, model Suheyn Cipriani has drawn attention as one of the standout contenders in the competition. Cipriani said her ultimate goal is to fulfill her dream of representing Peru on the global stage at Miss Universe.
