MercaSID and General Mills presented their main clients and business partners with a new version of Häagen-Dazs Belgian Chocolate, an evolution of one of the brand's signature flavors now made with 72% cacao for a more intense taste experience.
The presentation took place at the Häagen-Dazs store on Federico Geraldino in Santo Domingo, timed to International Chocolate Day, under the concept "Chocolate, now more intense." Clients, executives and guests took part in an event built around chocolate, with tastings of the new flavor, drinks, music and various food experiences.

The launch is part of the ongoing commercial relationship between MercaSID and General Mills, one of the leading food companies in the United States. Through this partnership, the two companies have worked to grow the presence of their brands in the Dominican market, including Häagen-Dazs, one of the leading international names in the premium ice cream category.
A partnership full of flavor

José Miguel Bonetti Du-Breil, executive vice president of MercaSID, said that for MercaSID, building long-term commercial relationships with companies like General Mills allows it to keep bringing internationally recognized brands closer to the Dominican market while responding to how consumers are evolving.
He added that the new Häagen-Dazs offering reflects that commitment to keeping a brand with a long track record in the country relevant, through products that combine quality, innovation and a distinctive experience.
The new formulation of Belgian Chocolate reflects the continued evolution of the Häagen-Dazs lineup. The iconic flavor is now made with 72% cacao and keeps its signature chocolate flakes, delivering a more intense chocolate profile.
John Serrano Anthony, Brand and Marketing Lead at General Mills, said that at Häagen-Dazs, enjoying ice cream is seen as going far beyond taste, describing it as a sensory experience and a small moment of pleasure people choose to give themselves. He said Belgian Chocolate takes that moment further, with a more intense flavor paired with the unmatched creaminess that sets Häagen-Dazs apart.
He said the product is made in the French Alps with carefully selected ingredients, with every detail turning a simple treat into an extraordinary moment.
