Greek comedian Markos Seferlis paid tribute to singer Giorgos Mazonakis on Monday, recalling their shared military service in Corinth following the performer's death.
Speaking during an interview on the morning television show Super Katerina on September 21, Seferlis described Mazonakis as an exceptionally polite and unique individual who differed from everyone else.
The comedian explained that both men were experiencing their initial career success when they met during their army service in Corinth. Seferlis was known for hosting the comedy show Taxi at the time, while Mazonakis had recently released his initial hit songs.
Seferlis noted that the pair shared many lighthearted moments during their time in the military. He added that even years later, when he attended Mazonakis' live concerts, the singer would call out their shared army jokes directly from the stage.
