A man who accidentally used a women's restroom turned an embarrassing standoff to his advantage by convincing a group of women that they were the ones who had entered the wrong room, according to an account posted on Reddit by a user known as Own-Depth-7817.
The man wrote that he only realized his mistake after he had already used the restroom. As he was preparing to leave, a group of women walked in, and he said he panicked and stayed hidden inside the stall.
He said he stood in complete silence for more than 20 minutes, listening to the women chatting, until they finally left. He waited another 30 seconds before deciding it was safe to come out and wash his hands.
The same group of women then walked back into the restroom and found him there, staring at him with what he described as silent disapproval.
Turning the tables on the women
Rather than admit his mistake, the man said it seemed like a good idea at that moment to shift the embarrassment onto the women instead. He told them on the spot that they were the ones who had mixed up the rooms and were actually standing in the men's restroom.
He said that as he walked away, he watched the same women head into the actual men's restroom, where another man told them they had made a mistake. According to his account, one of the women then said, "What the hell did that idiot do?"

The site is organized into thousands of topic-specific forums, known as subreddits, where users trade personal anecdotes, questions and experiences with strangers.
In a separate incident reported earlier, a schoolboy used an out-of-service toilet at an upscale restaurant and flooded the premises after ignoring a warning sign on the door. Staff at the restaurant were forced to evacuate all customers as a result.
