American rapper Kanye West may perform a concert in Moscow as his team examines potential venues in the Russian capital, Russian newspaper Izvestia reported.
A source connected to the artist told the publication that the musician's team is uncertain about the feasibility of staging a show in Saint Petersburg, prompting them to study alternative locations in Moscow.
The potential location change follows renewed uncertainty surrounding two planned performances in Saint Petersburg. Russian news outlet Baza reported that concert organisers deleted social media posts in which they had previously assured fans that the shows would definitely take place.
The performances by West had been set for October 10 and October 11 at the Gazprom Arena in Saint Petersburg. However, the scheduled dates have repeatedly come under threat of cancellation. Representatives for the Gazprom Arena previously stated that no concerts by foreign performers were included on the venue's official calendar for October.
In response to the stadium's statement, event organiser Say Agency announced on September 4 that the October concerts would go ahead. Despite that declaration, the subsequent removal of promotional posts has cast fresh doubt over the Saint Petersburg dates.
