Socialist Party secretary general José Luís Carneiro took a short family break at Manta Rota beach in the Algarve with his wife and children. He was accompanied on the beach by his wife, Goreti, and their two children, Francisco and Carolina, during a brief pause in his political schedule.

The getaway was brief because Carneiro had other commitments on his schedule. He attended the Festas do Povo de Campo Maior on Saturday as the traditional festival returned to the Alentejo town.

Vacation Plans and Political Schedule
The stop in the Algarve aligned with vacation plans that the Socialist leader previously disclosed to news agency Lusa. Carneiro said he intended to divide the first days of August between the beach in the Algarve, the city of Porto, and his birthplace of Baião.

Carneiro also revealed that he planned to use his rest period to read about politics, spend time with his family, play football, and go fishing with friends.
