Peruvian presenter Janet Barboza cut off guest Suheyn Cipriani on live show América hoy after the model tried to promote a rival podcast.

Janet Barboza Stops Suheyn Cipriani Promoting Podcast

Television presenter Janet Barboza interrupted model Suheyn Cipriani during a live broadcast of América hoy to stop her from promoting a new podcast project.

The incident took place as Cipriani was wrapping up a guest appearance on the morning entertainment show. When host Barboza invited her to share her social media handles with the audience, Cipriani attempted to plug her involvement in a podcast hosted on María Pía Copello's digital channel.

Cipriani managed to mention her social networks and state that she had a new podcast before Barboza cut in to stop the mention. The presenter firmly set boundaries on air, telling the guest that podcasts were not promoted on the show.

The sudden intervention caused visible discomfort for the guest. Cipriani chose to handle the situation with humor, laughing as she stated she would say nothing further, before asking viewers to follow her on TikTok and her other social accounts.

Interruption during live morning broadcast

Janet Barboza, a veteran television host known in Peruvian entertainment by her nickname Rulitos, is one of the lead presenters on América hoy. The morning magazine show, broadcast on América Televisión, regularly features guest appearances by influencers, models, and public figures.

Suheyn Cipriani is a Peruvian model and former beauty queen who gained national prominence after representing Peru in international pageants. Guest appearances on morning broadcasts typically offer visiting personalities an opportunity to highlight their current media projects and social media channels.

María Pía Copello is a well-known television presenter and digital content creator who previously hosted the daytime television show Mande quien Mande. She has since expanded her digital platform to produce original online content, including independent podcasts featuring guest collaborators.

Response from María Pía Copello

The broadcast incident prompted a direct response from María Pía Copello, who addressed the situation during an episode of her podcast Sin más que decir. Copello questioned how the morning show host handled the guest on air.

Speaking on her program, Copello stated that if América hoy maintains rules against promoting external digital spaces, such policies should be communicated with greater subtlety or explained to guests before the broadcast begins. She warned that putting visiting talent in uncomfortable positions could eventually leave the morning program with fewer guests.

Neither Barboza nor the production team behind América hoy issued additional comments following Copello's statement, while Cipriani continues to maintain her regular activity across her official social media accounts.
