Peruvian broadcaster ATV has officially confirmed the return of reality competition show Combate to national television under the title Combate, nueva generación.
The network announced the project on the evening of Friday, August 14, promising a renovated format with a new generation of young contestants while retaining the classic division between red and green teams.
ATV teased the revival across its official social media channels, sharing promotional messages to build anticipation among television viewers. In its initial announcement, the channel asked audience members whether they were on the red or green team, declaring that the show was more alive than ever and that the new generation promised to be great.
A subsequent message published by the network stated that the game was starting over as studios prepared for a new era, asking who would step up to take on the challenge. ATV noted that the initiative aims to introduce fresh faces and revive the interactive studio format that previously made the program a prominent fixture of Peruvian television entertainment.
Despite releasing the promotional previews, ATV has not yet confirmed the official premiere date or disclosed who will host the renewed competition series. The announcement triggered immediate interest on social media platforms, where long-time followers of the franchise began speculating about potential cast members and presenters.
Potential presenters and production meetings
Speculation regarding who will host the show has centered on television presenter María Pía Copello, a former host of rival competition program Esto es guerra. Industry rumors intensified after Abnner Robles, producer of the show Sin + que decir, shared videos featuring Copello inside ATV network facilities on Friday, August 14, just hours before the channel officially announced the return of Combate.
Sports broadcaster Peter Arévalo, popularly known as Míster Peet, has also been linked to the upcoming project. In a recent appearance on YouTube, Arévalo revealed that he held a meeting with producer Marisol Crousillat and other key figures associated with the original show.
Arévalo described those discussions as fruitful, although he declined to confirm whether his participation on the program was finalized. ATV has not officially confirmed either Copello or Arévalo for the new season.
