The iPhone 17 Pro Max emerged as the most popular smartphone in Ukraine during a major three-day Apple promotional campaign on the monomarket platform from August 22 to August 24. Smart devices saw heavy demand across the country as shoppers took advantage of extended installment payment plans.
All available stock of Apple iMac desktop computers sold out completely during the three-day event. Among smartphones, the iPhone 17 Pro Max led consumer demand, followed by the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 16.
Apple hardware demand and installment financing
Official Apple distributor Asbis-Ukraine provided the sales figures to Ukrainian news portal LIGA.net after the promotion concluded. The campaign allowed customers on the monomarket e-commerce platform to spread their purchases over up to 20 installment payments through monobank.
Ukrainian shoppers also bought MacBooks, iPads, Apple Watches, and AirPods on installment plans during the promotional period. Consumer preferences shifted noticeably toward higher-tier product configurations while the promotion was active.
Asbis-Ukraine stated that buyers are increasingly choosing more expensive models and premium specifications. The distributor noted that spreading payments across 20 monthly installments narrows the price gap in monthly expenditure between basic and flagship hardware, leading buyers to opt for Pro and Pro Max variants, larger storage capacities, and higher-end devices.
Financing options continue to represent a primary driver for technology purchases in the country. Asbis-Ukraine estimates that roughly half of all Apple equipment sales in Ukraine are made through credit programs or partner financial initiatives.
Retail context and upcoming Apple hardware
The promotional sale took place on monomarket, a digital retail marketplace integrated into the monobank mobile app. Monobank is a major Ukrainian mobile-only neobank that provides financial services and retail financing features to millions of app users across Ukraine.
Asbis-Ukraine operates as the authorized distributor for Apple technology in Ukraine, managing official product imports and distribution channels for authorized retail partners across the country.
The surge in sales of current flagship models coincides with recent reports regarding upcoming Apple hardware developments. A cyberattack targeting an Apple supply chain partner recently leaked new details about the camera system on the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro, while industry reports suggest Apple may also seek to reduce production costs on the display for the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
