U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents recorded 400,186 arrests during the first 14 months of President Donald Trump's administration, according to official data. The figures cover the period from January 2025 to March 10, 2026. ICE provided the records in response to a Freedom of Information Act request submitted by the Deportation Data Project.
The records indicate that enforcement operations extended far beyond border areas into major metropolitan cities across the country. Federal agents carried out detentions on public streets, highways, airports, local jails, and administrative offices. Texas, California, and Florida recorded some of the highest arrest totals during the 14-month period.
Texas emerged as one of the primary focal points of ICE activity nationwide. The general area of Dallas registered 15,713 arrests, marking one of the highest figures in the federal dataset. Additionally, authorities recorded 404 immigrant apprehensions at the Dallas County Jail.
Elsewhere in Texas, records showed 8,544 detentions in Laredo across airports, interstate highways, and local operations. Agents logged 7,911 arrests on streets and public roads in El Paso. The general area of Austin also ranked among the top locations in the state with 5,437 recorded detentions.
Arrests in California and Florida
California also saw heavy enforcement activity, concentrated heavily in southern urban centers. Santa Ana logged 9,054 detentions taking place on streets and in neighborhoods. The general area of Los Angeles recorded 6,752 arrests, bringing the combined total for both areas to more than 15,000 cases.
In San Diego, located near the border with Mexico, ICE figures showed 5,461 arrests. Meanwhile, Florida recorded widespread activity across both local detention facilities and metropolitan areas. The Turner Guilford Knight jail in Miami-Dade County accumulated 3,417 detentions, while the general area of Miami registered 2,864 arrests.
In addition, the ICE sub-office in Miramar logged 2,291 cases, while the Broward main jail and the Krome detention center also appeared in the records. Central and northern Florida cities saw substantial enforcement as well, with Orlando recording 3,688 arrests and Tampa registering 1,462 cases.
Facilities in Hillsborough County accounted for 1,143 cases, while Polk County registered 917 arrests. Other Florida locations included Fort Myers with 2,345 detentions, Tallahassee with 2,034 arrests, and Panama City Beach with 1,146 cases.
Operations in Major Non Border Cities
The federal data revealed that high numbers of detentions occurred well outside states bordering Mexico. Major metropolitan hubs in the Midwest and South accumulated thousands of arrests under the administration's immigration drive.
In Chicago, Illinois, ICE operations resulted in 5,549 detentions between January 2025 and March 2026. Operations in Atlanta, Georgia, recorded 5,719 arrests, placing both cities among the top urban enforcement areas in the nation.
Overall, the figures released by ICE demonstrate that enforcement actions spanned diverse locations, including streets, highways, local jails, and administrative sites across major U.S. urban centers.
