Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis denied a report in the Sunday edition of the newspaper Estia claiming he attended a dinner with PASOK-KINAL officials Anna Diamantopoulou and Manolis Christodoulakis at a businessman's home in Athens.
Gerapetritis said both the article and the accompanying visual material were entirely false and products of imagination. He added that the photo was a doctored, AI-generated image depicting the three as dinner companions and including fabricated details of a conversation that never took place.
He said he expected the named PASOK officials to issue equally categorical denials, noting he had never met them privately.
Gerapetritis also said the newspaper never sought his comment before publication, acting in full contradiction of basic journalistic ethics. He described the report as part of a pattern of front-page stories targeting him personally and said he regarded it as a deliberate attempt to cause serious disruption to the political system.
He said he expected the newspaper to issue a full and immediate retraction.
