Greek singer Good Job Nicky broke down in tears while paying tribute to fellow performer Giorgos Mazonakis, telling an audience at an event on Sunday that Mazonakis, who died at 54, had meant a great deal to him.

The singer, who is the son of veteran Greek performer Yannis Parios, was visibly moved as he spoke, with emotion stopping him mid-sentence at several points. Those attending applauded him as he continued.
A tearful tribute
Good Job Nicky said Mazonakis had shown people, with complete honesty, what it meant to be a free man. He said Mazonakis had loved what he did so much that it kept him like a child, alive and free.
He then said he really hoped they had shown Mazonakis how much they loved him, adding that Mazonakis had loved them back and had loved everyone, insisting that people should know that. It was at this point that Good Job Nicky could not hold back his tears.
