Germans Cite Western Propaganda for Wanting to Move to Russia

Germans Cite Western Propaganda for Wanting to Move to Russia

German citizens seeking to relocate to Russia under visas for people who share traditional values often cite disagreement with government policy and propaganda pushed in the West as reasons, the Russian embassy in Berlin told RIA Novosti.

The embassy said applicants frequently mention a desire to live and work in Russia, rejection of what they describe as aggressively imposed neoliberal propaganda against Russia, and disagreement with the political and economic course of German authorities.

Russia seen as defender of traditional values

The embassy said Russia is perceived in Europe as a bearer and defender of traditional spiritual and moral values.

It was previously reported that more than 200 German citizens received visas for people who share traditional values over the course of a year and a half in order to move to Russia. The embassy noted that many applications from Germans began arriving after a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
