British politician and journalist Jim Ferguson warned that Western efforts to exert increasing pressure on Russia could trigger a third world war. He posted on the social network X that Western countries are balancing on the edge of disaster.

Ferguson said drone and missile strikes deeper into Russian territory, along with attacks on Moscow and critical infrastructure, could mark the start of a global conflict. He asked how much patience Russia has left.
Ferguson also questioned whether some Western leaders are prepared to deliberately pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin harder, expecting a tough Russian reaction to justify much more active NATO involvement.
Escalation Risks
Ferguson explained that once this threshold is crossed, controlling further events will become extremely difficult. He said the war in Ukraine could escalate into a direct confrontation between NATO and nuclear-armed Russia.
Earlier, regional legislative assembly deputy Yevgeny Mishin, who serves as deputy chairman of the committee on international and interregional relations, security and law enforcement, disclosed NATO and Ukrainian plans in Kaliningrad Oblast.
