Bicycle brand Focus has presented the Aventura² FS 6.8, a versatile full-suspension electric bicycle now available in Germany for 4,950 euros.
The model is powered by a Bosch Performance Line CX electric motor that produces a maximum torque of 120 N·m. Electrical power comes from an 800 Wh Bosch PowerTube traction battery, and the design allows for an additional battery to be connected if riders require extra range.
For shock absorption, the bicycle is fitted with an SR Suntour Mobie 34 D front fork providing 120 mm of travel alongside an SR Suntour Edge-X R rear shock with 100 mm of travel. A height-adjustable seatpost is also included as standard equipment.
Off-road capability and equipment
Focus has rated the Aventura² FS 6.8 for drops and jumps up to a maximum height of 15 cm. Because of this structural threshold, the manufacturer intends the bicycle primarily for unpaved dirt roads and moderate off-road conditions rather than aggressive trail riding.
The e-bike leaves the factory equipped with practical commuting and touring accessories, including front and rear mudguards, a kickstand, and a full lighting system. Its integrated luggage rack utilizes the MIK mounting system and supports loads up to 27 kg.
Stopping power is delivered by a four-piston hydraulic braking system. Gear changes are handled by a 10-speed Shimano Cues transmission.
E-bike market context
Focus Bikes was founded in Germany in 1992 by cyclocross world champion Mike Kluge and produces a broad line of road, gravel, and electric bicycles. Full-suspension e-bikes use dual shock systems to cushion impacts and improve tire traction on rough terrain.
Drive units from German technology supplier Bosch and shifting systems from Japanese component maker Shimano are common standards across European electric utility and trekking bicycles. The MIK rack format is an industry-wide accessory mounting system that allows compatible bags to click securely onto the rear carrier.
