Opening night activities begin at 7:00 pm at Quinta Dominica, a historic cultural center situated in Santo Domingo's landmark Zona Colonial. The launch schedule opens with a cast meet-and-greet for A la inversa alongside a photo exhibition of the show by photographer Mika Pasco.

Main stage performances follow from 8:30 pm to 11:00 pm, featuring Bédard presenting her production Morceaux Choisis. The Canadian choreographer will perform alongside dancer Valerie Sabbah and the National Contemporary Dance Company, the official state dance ensemble of the Dominican Republic.

Quinta Dominica is a restored 16th-century colonial building and garden venue in the heart of the capital's historic district, regularly hosting literary events, art exhibitions and intimate chamber performances.

International dance lineup and student performance

Following Tuesday's opening, the festival continues on Friday, 25 September, and Saturday, 26 September, at the Narciso González Cultural Centre in Santo Domingo. The venue will present three distinct stage productions originating from the Dominican Republic, Romania and Costa Rica.

On Friday at 10:30 am, the cultural centre hosts Danza Dominicana in a performance staged specifically for school students. Festival organizers said the morning session aims to introduce younger generations to the language of contemporary dance and foster interest in the performing arts.

Friday evening programming continues at 7:00 pm with a performance by Dirty Dancing Rumanía from Romania. Organizers described the Romanian group's show as a presentation centered on expressive force and dynamic stage movement.

The weekend lineup finishes on Saturday, 26 September, at 7:00 pm with Danza Universitaria Costa Rica. The Costa Rican ensemble will offer a performance highlighting university dance movements and contemporary artistic traditions from their country.

Festival organizers stated that the 2026 edition remains committed to promoting international cultural exchange, supporting the movement of artistic proposals, and creating meeting places for creators, students and the general public.

The festival aims to broaden access to contemporary dance while establishing new opportunities for different generations to discover the creative work of Dominican and international choreographers.
