Ebelise Fabián, the wife of merengue singer José Virgilio Peña Suazo, died on Sunday, August 2, after remaining hospitalized for several weeks in a health center. Dominican music is in mourning following her passing in Santo Domingo.
A source close to the artist confirmed the news to Diario Libre. The source also informed that Fabián's body will be displayed on Monday starting at 3:00 p.m. at Jardín Memorial, located on Jacobo Majluta Avenue, while the burial will take place on Tuesday.
Intensive Care Unit Admission
Fabián's health had generated concern since mid-July. On July 16, relatives and friends of Peña Suazo made a public appeal on Facebook requesting a prayer chain for her recovery.
At that time, they reported that she remained in a coma in an intensive care unit. Her condition mobilized numerous expressions of solidarity from both followers and figures in the artistic field.
