Drone wreckage fell on a private children's center in Krasnodar early Monday, killing two children during an overnight drone attack on the southern Russian city, regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev said.
Kondratyev said seven more children were injured and were receiving all necessary medical help, and he offered condolences to the families of those who died. He gave no further details on the children's ages or identities.
The governor added that two adults were also hospitalized and were being treated.
Drone debris also fell on residential buildings and homes under construction in Krasnodar, and warehouse facilities caught fire, Kondratyev said. Emergency services were working at multiple sites across the city.
Krasnodar Mayor Evgeny Naumov said an "Attention All" alert had sounded across the city as authorities worked to repel the drone attack.
Ozon warehouse hit by drones
Drones also struck a logistics center belonging to Ozon, Russia's largest online retail marketplace, in Krasnodar. The company's press service said staff were evacuated promptly and no one was hurt.
A large fire broke out and emergency crews responded, according to Ozon, which said work at the warehouse had been halted. The company said products stored at the site would be removed from its website and that orders already placed would be canceled and refunded.
Stavropol Krai also targeted
Ukrainian drones struck the neighboring Stavropol Krai region at the same time as the Krasnodar attack, regional governor Vladimir Vladimirov said. He said the drones were heading toward the industrial zone of Nevinnomyssk, a city in the region, and that Russian forces were intercepting and shooting them down.
Vladimirov urged residents not to approach any downed drone wreckage and not to film or publish footage of crash sites, drone flights or air defense operations, warning that doing so carries administrative penalties.
Putin orders logistics rebuild
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the government to restore logistics networks and warehouses damaged in strikes by Ukraine's armed forces, saying the rebuilding should be carried out using newer technology.
Putin said attacks by Ukrainian forces on Russian facilities were causing harm but had not produced any critical consequences.
