Donald Trump Says Nobody Knows Who Is Governing Iran

US President Donald Trump said nobody knows who governs Iran during a speech in Maryland where he also outlined plans for a new American shipyard.

Donald Trump Says Nobody Knows Who Is Governing Iran

US President Donald Trump said that uncertainty surrounds the leadership in Tehran, telling an audience in Maryland that nobody knows who is governing Iran.

Speaking at an event in Maryland, Trump described the lack of clarity regarding leadership in the Iranian capital as his biggest problem.

Trump also stated that he remains in continuous contact with foreign leaders, who he claimed are calling him constantly to thank him for the war in Iran. He added that he responded by asking them when they intended to pay for the conflict.

Tehran is the capital and political centre of Iran, a Middle Eastern nation that has been at the centre of international security concerns and regional military tensions.

Addressing the outcome of the conflict, Trump said the remaining issue was deciding how the war will end, framing the choice as whether to finish it the good way or the not so good way. He added that people would find out very soon.

Strait of Hormuz Oil Shipments

Before departing for Maryland, Trump spoke to reporters about wider developments in the Middle East. He said millions of barrels of oil had passed through the Strait of Hormuz in recent days.

Regarding shipping volumes through the vital route, Trump noted that traffic was reaching levels equal to, and sometimes higher than, pre-war figures.

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow shipping channel between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, serving as a primary transit route for global petroleum export shipments.

Trump also referenced domestic developments in Iran, stating that the Iranian oil minister had just resigned. He said the official stepped down after admitting that the country had no economy, no oil, and nothing left.

New Maryland Shipyard Investment

At the same event in Maryland, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth presented plans to build a major new defense facility in Baltimore County.

Hegseth described the proposed facility as the largest US shipyard constructed since World War II, referring to the global conflict that prompted massive expansion in American wartime industrial production.

According to Trump, the United States government will take a 40 percent stake in the new facility. The total cost of the project is estimated at around 3.7 billion dollars.
