Helen Valleau, the girlfriend of former Peru striker Claudio Pizarro, has hit back at social media users who suggested she is financially dependent on him, saying she has her own job and generates her own income.
The influencer used her social media accounts to reject insinuations that she is a woman "kept" by the former Peruvian forward, after a TikTok video she posted drew a wave of critical comments about her financial situation.
The video shows Pizarro dancing, apparently at a nightclub, while Valleau added a romantic caption listing what she described as the roles the former footballer plays in her life.
"My bodyguard, my Google Maps, my masseuse, my chef, my trainer," Valleau wrote alongside the clip. The post drew a range of reactions from her followers, who commented on how close she and Pizarro appear to be, as well as on the former player's current appearance.
Valleau responds to claims Pizarro supports her
Among the comments the post received, several users made direct references to an alleged financial dependence on Pizarro. One wrote, "Your bank, your credit card." Valleau replied to reject that characterisation of her situation.
"Incorrect, I have a job," she wrote back, making clear she has her own source of income.
Another user again suggested the former footballer covers her expenses, writing, "Your wallet." Valleau responded that, beyond having her own income, her family would not allow another man to take charge of her finances either.
"I have an Arab father; it would be impossible for him to allow another man to take charge of the finances," she wrote.
Valleau's replies drew further reactions from users on the platform. While some kept commenting on the video featuring Pizarro, others backed her clarification and praised her for addressing the insinuations about her finances directly.
Valleau and Pizarro's relationship
Valleau is in a relationship with Pizarro, and the couple have a daughter together. They often share moments from their family life on social media, though they have also chosen to keep other aspects of their relationship private.
Pizarro is a former Peruvian professional footballer best known for his long career in Germany's Bundesliga, where he played for clubs including Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich and became the competition's all-time leading foreign goalscorer. He also had a spell in England with Chelsea and was a longtime member of the Peru national team.
On this occasion, Valleau's post ended up generating comments about the couple's finances. The influencer used the replies to clarify that she has a job and does not depend financially on the former footballer, despite the interpretations some users made of her video.
