Production company D and A Live Concerts has denied composer Nikos Karvelas's claims of unpaid fees from singer Anna Vissi's OAKA concert.
The production company stated it paid an advance of 250,000 euros to collective rights management organization AUTODIA prior to the performance in Athens and owes no money to the composer.
The official statement was issued on October 7, 2026, by reporter Dionysis Thanasoulas on the Greek news site Protothema. It aimed to correct what the company described as false impressions surrounding the financial arrangements for the large-scale concert at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens.

Anna Vissi is one of the most prominent pop singers in Greece, and Nikos Karvelas is a celebrated Greek composer who has written many of her hits. D and A Live Concerts, also known as D and A Productions, was established by Vissi together with businesswoman Dimitra Kousta to produce live entertainment events.
Copyright Licensing and Financial Clearance
In its statement, D and A Live Concerts affirmed that as the producer of Vissi's stadium show, it has fully met every legal and contractual obligation toward all contributors and collaborators, including Karvelas.
The company noted that it contacted AUTODIA, the Collective Management Organization of Musical Intellectual Property Rights, to which Karvelas assigned the management of property rights for the public performance of his works.

Prior to the concert, D and A Live Concerts secured the required performance license from AUTODIA and made timely payments in accordance with the published fee schedule of the organization and the terms of the signed contract.
On September 23, 2026, D and A Live Concerts transferred an advance payment of 250,000 euros to AUTODIA. The final financial clearance is currently pending the review of the concert set list that has already been submitted to the rights organization.
Once AUTODIA completes the clearance process, Karvelas will receive the payment provided under his personal contract with the collective management body, as is customary in the music industry.

D and A Live Concerts emphasized that no agreement, whether written or oral, exists between the company and Karvelas regarding the OAKA concert or any other concert or performance.
Accounting Records and Legal Warnings
According to the accounting and contractual records maintained by D and A Live Concerts, no other financial claim exists against the production firm arising from the OAKA performance.
The company stated that any assertion to the contrary is inaccurate, lacks contractual and legal foundation, and fails to correspond with actual facts.

D and A Live Concerts warned that if legally unfounded claims or offensive allegations continue to be raised, the company explicitly reserves all legal rights to take action before competent judicial authorities and courts.
In music industry publishing across Greece, public performance royalties for live concerts are typically handled through collective licensing bodies like AUTODIA, which issue licenses to organizers and disburse royalties directly to member songwriters.
Public Exchange Between Former Collaborators
The statement from the production company followed an escalating public dispute between the two long-time musical partners.

On October 6, 2026, Karvelas publicly commented on the friction, stating that Vissi had taken a direction he did not agree with. He expressed feeling crushed by the rift and referenced an amount of 300,000 euros.
Vissi issued a sharp response on October 7, 2026, stating that Karvelas had demanded 1.5 million euros and had threatened to destroy her career. She added that while Karvelas spoke of feeling crushed, she spoke of feeling shame.
Vissi and Karvelas share a personal and professional history spanning several decades. Formerly married, the pair created many of the most successful pop records, rock operas, and live stage shows in modern Greek entertainment.

Legal Threat Over Live Song Performances
The conflict has raised questions regarding whether Vissi will retain the right to perform Karvelas's extensive catalog of compositions during future live appearances.
Lawyer Michalis Dimitrakopoulos, representing Vissi's interests, addressed the issue on October 7, 2026. He stated that if Karvelas decided to forbid Vissi from singing his songs, her legal team would take the matter to court.
Dimitrakopoulos indicated that any legal attempt to block Vissi from performing the compositions live would be met with an immediate court challenge.
Fashion Commentary on the Athens Show
Alongside the financial and legal dispute, the OAKA concert also drew public attention for its visual production.
Greek fashion figure Lakis Gavalas commented on the event on October 7, 2026, offering criticism of Vissi's stage wardrobe. He described the outfits as worse than expected and asked what the clothing choices were, adding that he offered his critique out of love.
